This poem was written whilst exploring the meaning of love and relationships...
Especially, our tendency to get lost in our partner and the importance of remaining in our own center, as difficult as that can be!
Most often I just feel an impulse to write, and my poems are written very quickly with almost no thought at all. When I look back at them I can't believe I wrote them! Sometimes I can't even can't remember putting the words together, that's how I know they come from my heart.
I hope my poem inspires something in you. And for me, the energy behind the words is the most important thing to find in them, rather than the words themselves.
Where Is Love?
Is love in the passionate and magnetic pull that brings two lovers together?
Or in the gentle gaze into each other’s eyes:
The reflection of Your soul.
Is love in the raw passion of sexual interaction:
Burning like a wild fire to the core?
Or in the energetic embrace
That can be felt without even touching.
Is love in the pain and despair of separation?
Or in the feeling of completeness
Already within the soul.
Is love in the reflection of the other?
But what is reflecting?
Other than the love we already have within.
Is love in what the other can give to us?
Or in the gifts we uncover as they hold up the mirror?
Is love to be found in energetic exchanges,
Or the feeling of being fully centered within ourselves?
Can love be found through another or by another?
Or are we the only one who holds the key to our true selves?
Love has a purpose!
This is to discover:
That we already Are the love we seek.
