THE SONG OF LIFE by Nevena Mihaylova

I feel so good and relaxed when I write...

I feel love and peace, and enter into a kind of meditative state when I write. I hope that my poems will give others the same feeling. My hope is that my poetry will help people connect with their real Spiritual selves. My hope is that my poetry will guide them to their answers. For me, writing is more than words on a paper. It is music… There are tones… There is rhythm… There are feelings…  Hope you can hear the song of the Earth through my poetry.

The Song of Life
by Nevena Mihaylova

Every cell is singing The Song of Life!
The words and melody are for you to choose…
What feeling do you want to give them?
Be mindful of what you think
because every moment is recorded
in The Song of Life.
And your cells will sing it
every day and every night:
Creating Reality, Creating Life…
Every thought and every feeling comes back to you
In the form you gave it… Is it blessing or a curse?
You choose…

I choose happiness:
“Oh, Happy day!”
I feel the presence of God everywhere
I see it in others, I feel it in me.
Every cell in me is singing: “Oh, Happy Day!”
I feel the love of God in every cell.
“Oh, Happy Day! Oh, Happy Day!”
All day long: “Oh, Happy Day!”
God loves me as I am…
“Oh, Happy Day!”

Nevena MihaylovaI believe that part of my purpose here on this beautiful Earth is to write. To write inspiring stories that open people´s minds. To write uplifting poems that make people feel good. Writing is big part of my Spiritual journey. It is a way I communicate with God. Every time I am inspired to write I feel Spirit flows through me. I feel the same way when I am drawing or taking photos with my camera. My dream is to learn Fine Art Photography and to travel the world taking photos of the beauty around me and writing wonderful stories. I am from Bulgaria. You can find me on Facebook here.

I AM STILL HERE by Janavi Held

This was composed by a very gifted and beautiful soul: a regular contributor to our poetry project, and dear friend of mine, Janavi Held, whose life is gradually being taken from us by an incurable illness. She has been suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Internal Adhesions for six painful years now, and neither her insurance nor the government healthcare will help her. She reaches out to us, her sisters, as a last plea. This is a poem she wrote yesterday on her birthday, in which she offers us the gift of her friendship. May it touch your generous hearts and inspire you to reach out to her in her plight.

Dear Friends,

The last time I was able to leave the house was by ambulance on my way to the hospital. After many long hours in the emergency room I was admitted and taken upstairs. After everyone left I sat on the hospital bed, knees to chest, bracing my body against the pain and trembling.

The light of this cold day was fading. I turned my eyes to the la…

THE JOURNEY by Mary Oliver

Today we honor Mary Oliver (1936-2019) and all the words she left behind. May they inspire you on your journey!

Excerpt from Mary Oliver’s book Long Life: Essays and Other Writings:

"Poets must read and study...but, also, they must learn to tilt and whisper, shout, or dance, each in his or her own way, or we might just as well copy the old books. But, no, that would never do, for always the new self swimming around in the old world feels itself uniquely verbal. And that is just the point: how the world, moist and bountiful, calls to each of us to make a new and serious response. That's the big question, the one the world throws at you every morning. 'Here you are, alive. Would you like to make a comment?'"

The Journey
By Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began, though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice-- though the whole house began to tremble and you felt the old tug at your ankles. "Mend my life!" each voice cried. But y…

IMAGINE A WOMAN by Patricia Lynn Reilly

This poem invites you to look upon yourself with loving kindness…
Gazing at your own true reflection, you will discover that everything you have longed for “out there” is already within you! I invite you to love your creativity fiercely. Faithfully plant seeds, allowing under-the-ground dormant seasons, nurturing your creative garden with love and gratitude. In the fullness of time, the green growing things thrust forth from the ground. It's a faithful, trustworthy process. AND it takes time and patience.  Blessed is the fruit of your creative womb! I invite you to trust your vision of the world and express it. With wonder and delight, paint a picture, create a dance, write a book, and make up a song. To give expression to your creative impulses is as natural as your breathing. Create in your own language, imagery, and movement. Follow no script. Do not be limited by the customary way things have been expressed. Your creative intuition is original. Gather all of life into your inner c…
