I
in my humanness experience the pull of my emotions, like the ebb and flow of
the ocean…
I
find myself in a constant flowing shift. This poem identifies with the fear of
change, the rawness of pain, the truth of my light and also of my darkness.
On
my journey I see myself shifting between the spirit and the human that is all a
part of me. But we must always remember, there is always a new start for us,
each and every new day.
When I Shift
the
stretching of my thoughts,
bring
me to remove-
the
filters,
that
I sometimes place,
trying
to erase-
the
uncomfortable parts of me.
when
I shift,
and
feel my soul wander-
how
can I leave,
it
all to be-
to
break the patterns,
what
is underneath,
it
does not disappear,
it
is waiting to bring-
it
to clear,
what
is there for me-
to
let it all go.
I
collapse sometimes,
forgetting
about the pain-
doesn’t
make it,
any
less real-
because
it surfaces,
sometimes…
feeling
real and mine.
but
the softness of my breath,
brings
me to the depths-
of
me,
rising
inward-
then
outward,
see
the changes-
that
comes to seek me out.
I
resist sometimes,
sometimes
to my escaping-
bringing
out of the dark,
sometimes
hurts-
but
it makes me,
see
my light-
a
new start,
of
me-
again,
and
again.

Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg: About 3 years ago, I was awakened from my slumber, though it was a devastating breaking point in my life, I was reunited to a true relationship with my spiritual self and my gift through poetry. It is my intention to reach others by sharing my story through poetry and touching theirs. I am the Page owner of Heart’s Calling .I am also the Visionary Poet for the Facebook Magazine "Women as Visionaries with Lore Raymond" here. I recite spoken word at different venues and also host a monthly Creative Writing Circle using the space for women to bring out their inner release through written word. I am currently working on publishing a book of my poetry. I can be contacted through my Heart’s Calling Facebook page here.
