Those that know
me also know that I am really going through the mill health-wise. The thing is
though I really think we can find freedom amidst all that life throws our way.

Prisons
by Sarah Courtney Dean
My world is
reduced to a prisoners view
From a glass
caged window
Looking out while
life goes on.
There are no bars
or chains in this prison
Except those made
from failing flesh.
But whilst flesh
and blood fail
The world of the
mind is set free
To soar past the
confines of freshly concerns
Set free to roam
But do I dare to
release this fragile thing
Much more
delicate than the cage of flesh and blood
That confines it.
Dare I raise my
hand and smash the glass cage
And in that act
of violence set free my mind
Reflected in the
shards of broken fun fair mirrors?
Sarah Courtney Dean: I am a poet and my poetry is part and parcel of my spiritual tradition. I am a Druid and a seer and also a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. I live in the UK in the beautiful county of Dorset. My poetry is inspired by nature in all its forms especially by the progress of the seasons and how the Goddess is seen in them. I am single by choice and live with a ginger and white cat by the name of Rowan who as all cats are prone to rules the roost. You can find me on facebook here and on my page here.
