MY HEART RISES by Carolyn Riker

Transitions are passages. Change is inevitable and with it ample opportunities are provided to grow…

Each passage presents different obstacles. During times of tremendous transition, I retreat to my garden. She is patiently waiting for me and teaches me the cyclical patterns of life: quiet dormancy, budding rebirth, vibrant growth and eminent death.

The solace of nature has always been consistent and readily available with wisdom. It is one of the few places I exchange my thoughts freely as I listen to the birds, share the air with the trees, and retreat into a meditation of trust.

I wrote this poem early one morning as autumn is now nipping at the edges of my sleeves. My thoughts were quietly infused with peacefulness and her steady hand led me home.

My Heart Rises

Mist gracefully shrouds
the morning sun
fragments of dreams
still hum
a cadence of light rain
the footsteps of faeries
mystically stills my heart
enchanting prayers
offered in this sacred space
of solitude
I peacefully breathe
the cool damp air
as it teases and
dances through the trees
a playful exchange
of wind.
sunlight sees the shadows
memories cleansed
by the morning dew
a hazy world
of seeing the past
stepping into new
grateful
as I watch
my heart
rise with the sun.

IMAGINE A WOMAN by Patricia Lynn Reilly

This poem invites you to look upon yourself with loving kindness…
Gazing at your own true reflection, you will discover that everything you have longed for “out there” is already within you! I invite you to love your creativity fiercely. Faithfully plant seeds, allowing under-the-ground dormant seasons, nurturing your creative garden with love and gratitude. In the fullness of time, the green growing things thrust forth from the ground. It's a faithful, trustworthy process. AND it takes time and patience.  Blessed is the fruit of your creative womb! I invite you to trust your vision of the world and express it. With wonder and delight, paint a picture, create a dance, write a book, and make up a song. To give expression to your creative impulses is as natural as your breathing. Create in your own language, imagery, and movement. Follow no script. Do not be limited by the customary way things have been expressed. Your creative intuition is original. Gather all of life into your inner c…

DEPRESSION by Veronica Carpenter

Depression
Here goes my vulnerability A heart on a sleeve The typical person who looks at me May not see the same me that I live with daily The mind in the air, swirling with possibility When the darkness rallies/gathers/swirls When I am left to solitude This paper-thin garb unzips Here comes depression
No I don’t want to advertise So flash a smile Those who are close get to see Through the veil, it’s really not that thick Circumstances in life like to stab at the rib Stumble, fall behind the door Shut out the world Feelings well and weigh down Strength hidden deep in the core So deep that sometimes it’s forgotten Here comes the darkness My old friend Sweeping through my every move  Doubts, fears, un-named masked men Oozing like honey, sticking to everything
Patience is required to get on this ride There is a cycle but its pattern is unknown Slowly my gift will unwrap itself Stay on the path Coming back to that which never truly left me Just laid sleeping out of exhaustion from the fight Dormant in winter…

DIVINE LOVE by Vidya Chetan

I was thinking about this month of February as a special month for many who celebrate love, and of thefreshness and brilliance this time of year brings to one's life. ❤️

But when I think of love, my thoughts always go towards the Divine: my Lord Krishna. I believe there is nothing more precious in this world than the divine love he bestows upon me. My mind and heart are filled with love for Him  more than anyone. I penned down this poem just to express my feelings towards him, for I believe that God’s love is incomparable, unrivaled, unique, exceptional and precious than anything in this world.

Divine Love
Vidya Chetan

O, my Lord Krishna!
I bow down to your lotus feet,
which give me an immense sensation of tranquility,
calming my soul deep within.
Whatever outer turmoil or chaos I face
evaporates before your smiling face
instantly releasing me from agony.
You lift me when I am depressed
and grant me courage to face the world.

I overlook difficult surroundings
in your presence.
You heal my he…
