NEVER LET GO by Anisha Hassam

This is a plea from my mind and heart to the Divine Spirit.  It is easy to break into pleas when we are afraid and feel lost. It's human to fear, yet our spirit knows that there is something more powerful than fear.  Hence, I experience a constant struggle between the two: between my fear and my spiritual knowledge. Within my struggle, when I feel the most helpless, I find myself crying out to the Lord. My cry is a plea that draws strength from spiritual source to keep growing, to never give up, and to always have faith that I am taken care of, no matter how lost and alone I may feel. Never Let Go Be there for me, my Lord Never let me go, my Lord When I fall, be there to pick me up, my Lord When I forget, remind me, my Lord When I weep, wipe my tears, my Lord When fear spreads its arms to engulf me, Wrap your wings around me, my Lord Melt away the pain Melt away the suffering Melt away the fear Melt away the long...

SACRED by Anisha Hassam

This poem attempts to understand and appreciate the beauty of creation... It is a plea for us to unveil and focus on the esoteric instead of the exoteric. It invites us to appreciate the beauty of creation, exactly as it is, by looking within its own nature and within ours, for the two are connected. Sacred That which is sacred is simple That which is simple is...

MAGNIFICENCE by Anisha Hassam

There are inner transformations that occur during the course of everyone's life…  This poem is about one such transformation in which I felt myself entering a state of gratitude and fortitude. I felt myself accepting things as they are but knowing undeniably well that there is a power, greater than ourselves, looking over us.   I wrote this poem to help me remember that there are blessings even in the problems that come along our path.  We may not see the benefit instantly while going through these turbulent times. But sometimes, much later in our journey, the understanding comes, hence, the term transformation.  Deep transformations, as I understand them, can't be instant. I’ve found that deep transformations are gradual as they teach the mind and the spirit to be patient as they learn to harmonize with each other. There is such magnificence in this.  Artwork by Mstilav Pavlov. Magnificence When th...
