The poem surfaced after contemplating on the idea of fear… The poem surfaced after reflecting on how we so easily fall towards living with fear based minds: something we learn along the way. My poem speaks to our embracing breath as our guide, and the child within that truly knows more than our adult selves. Back In Our Hearts She sat looking out the window at leaves moving effortlessly to wind. She observed nature, in the quiet of Sundays, one of the few days of the week she was free to do, be, as she need only be, or so she thought. The leaves at times seemed comfortably still only to move again to the breath of wind. As if the wind itself were a choreographer showing each leaf how to bend in air. They’d flip over sometimes then softly fall to the ground like a baby lulled in a cradle.
