SHE LEAVES THE NAME BEHIND by Tammy T. Stone

This poem first came to me as an image... I saw a woman – you, her, me – beautiful and free, utterly unbound from the expectations, desires and projections of others, and even her/you/my own. What it would be like, away from all we’ve known? Or rather, imagine remaining where we are, where we have lived and struggled and loved and been loved, and transcending what we perceive to be our limitations through the power of our intuition. Imagine the ability to stay true to our very core, the gold I reference in the poem, finding peace with every new moment. May we all be free! She Leaves The Name Behind   by Tammy T. Stone On the other side of her name She moves through the field Past apples fallen from trees Leaves flecked with gold The name that weaves tales And holds secrets like gems That turns sacred memories Into petrified bitter stone She leaves the name behind On the wildly growing grass Her feet, now naked and free Treading on soft d...

MOVING METAPHOR by Kara D. Spain

My poem, “Moving Metaphor” is about Woman, as the embodiment of the art of poetry... She IS poetry. Her being moves as an art form, bringing insight and love to humanity. She is sorely needed today in a world that sometimes seems off course. May the woman of today rise to her most noble place among society, bringing her art of wisdom, guidance, and peace to all, in whatever form she takes. Photography by Katarina Silva Moving Metaphor by Kara D. Spain She is moving art, in creations of light and dark, casting metaphorical shadows, upon walls of life Her feet, dare not touch the decaying floor of stillness- she glides upon it, as if skating on glass-bottomed seas, of emerald and sapphire- armed with images of poetic lyric; her powerful pen, bringing forth the call, raining down showers of verse upon all Her body, a propelling metaphor, in rhythm and rhyme, tickling the minds of fools, sublime; as she walks peacefully, among a lonely land, to li...

LET ME LOVE YOU: ALL OF YOU by Cassandra Abdullojonova

This poem was written for every woman who has ever felt inadequate and unlovable…   The words written here are what I believe the Universe sings to us every morning when we awaken and every evening before we sleep.  The photograph accompanying this poem was taken on my journey backpacking through Thailand. I walked by this trash collector several days in a row and began to admire its inherent beauty. Actually, it felt a little like me. Patched up, worn out, full of junk needing to be released...yet vibrantly unique, eye-catching and memorable.  May these words and this photograph become a reminder that no matter who you are and what you're carrying,  you are worthy, you are loved.  Let me Love You: All of You by Cassandra Abdullojonova I want to love you: Every part of you Your past, your darkness, Your vices. I want to cherish you: On days your own spirit Is silenced to your cry With the only response The echo o...

1,000 CUPS by BethAnne Kapansky

When I was younger, I spent a lot of time walking around in a chronic state of apology… Apologizing for who I was. Apologizing for how I felt. Apologizing for things I didn't even know I was apologizing for. I had collected so much shame, guilt and sense of lack from my own personal experiences and my experiences of being a woman in this world, that my heart was frequently heavy from carrying all the weight, and I lived in an almost constant state of feeling like I needed to prove my worth and show just how "enough" I am. So many women I work with in my practice tell stories that echo my own. Stories with a common theme of struggling with wounds of insignificance, that would tell us our worth is up for evaluation by others, that we are always falling short. Stories that suggest many women minimize their true self, give away the best parts of themselves to others and defer their personal authority in an effort to placate and peace make and help other's feel wh...

STAR SISTER by Krista Angelique Katrovas

T his poem appeared like a star on a dark night… It was written in honor of my dear friend Stacey, who is indeed my, "Star Sister.”  Sometimes poems surface to remind others how special they are to our shared paths. Poems can shine like beacons on dark nights, and sometimes even those who often shine the brightest need a little reminding of their light.  Star Sister by Krista Angelique Katrovas Though we are not sisters by blood, we are sisters of life, which often runs deeper than shared DNA. You are my Star Sister. You shine brightly as you serve your elders, when others choose to walk away. You bring joy to their final days, and ride the waves of emotions that the end of life brings, like those Floridian waters on your long board that you surf, “Surfer girl, Surfer girl.” We laughed at your getting stung by a jellyfish in your eye because of how humorous you made it all sound. You focused on the rarity of such a...
