GOD'S PRAYER TO YOU by Sandra Allagapen

I was taking part in a guided meditation one day…

When we were told that God/the Divine was the energy that had come forward and He/She was praying, it caused my left-brained self to come to a screeching halt! God praying? Hold on, WE pray to God. Who would God pray to?? So I asked right there and then: “Who do you pray to, God?”

To my surprise, the answer rang clear as a bell: “I pray to you”. Over the course of the next day, this message came through and it remains to this day, one of my favorite poems, one that I feel drawn to share as often as I can.

It has opened my eyes and my heart to all the support that is there for me. So often we feel alone because we feel that our prayers are not being answered. But in truth we often push away the help we prayed for, simply because it isn’t what we expected.

If we ask for peace and a bird lands close to us the next day, do we take time to really see it and wonder at how unafraid it is of us and laugh at its cheek and cheer? Do we allow ourselves to be transported if only for one minute to a place of joy – and peace – or do we walk on by, because of our expectations of how that peace should come to us, thereby ignoring the fact that just that one minute of connection with the bird, could have moved us from our mind into our heart and led us to the solution we had prayed for?

This poem has transformed my perception of the Divine and my relationship with God. I pray that it does the same for you.

God's Prayer to You

I pray
that you are willing to receive the abundance of blessings
that I wish to shower you with.

I pray
 that you consider the opportunities
that I lovingly create for you.

I pray
that you open-heartedly listen for my voice
in all of my creations, big and small.

I pray
that you allow the friends I send to care for you,
 to guide and support you.

I pray
that every time you look at the stars or see a bird,
you recognize that they are the “I love you” notes
I have left all over the universe for you.

I pray
that you accept all that you have asked me for.

I pray
that you let me remind you
of all the magic and power I gave you.

I pray
that you remember that every day
I place my infinite faith in you
and that you learn to trust yourself too.

I pray
 that you surrender
all of your fears and doubts to me.

I pray
that in your times of sorrow,
you let me hold your hand and dry your tears.

I pray
that you rest, play, laugh and love
with the childlike abandon that I created you with.

I pray
that you know that nothing you can say, do, think or feel
could ever diminish who you are to me.

I pray
that you love yourself as I love you.
