There are nights spent with the ones we love…
Nights that leave us connected to the universe through the people around us. This poem was written after such a night when my friends, for that time, were my universe…
Mon Amie
Fly
with me in pouring skies,
in spinning fields, like
angels.
in spinning fields, like
angels.
Soar
below the roaring stars,
through waterfalls and
breathing.
through waterfalls and
breathing.
Stumble
over flickering black,
with splintered sparkles, my
daytime.
with splintered sparkles, my
daytime.
Tempt
me into paradise,
down darkened alleys, but
dancing.
down darkened alleys, but
dancing.
Flee
with me to private night,
in painful splendour, now
feeling.
in painful splendour, now
feeling.
Lower
us into blissful slumber,
under twinkling dust, find
healing.
under twinkling dust, find
healing.
Mariann Martland is discovering a voice in her life through words, poetry, art, inspiration and healing. She is learning the difference between enforced silence in the despair of loneliness and chosen silence in the beauty of solitude; how silence can create both pain and peace. She is beginning to find her voice and share her truth. She would love to connect with you on Twitter, or Facebook and on her blog ‘The Power of Silence’.
