I
have just found out that, in all probability, my working life has come to an
end due to ill health. This poem flowed from that realization. It is about
endings, beginnings, and trust…

Endings and Beginnings
Life
throws curve balls at times
Standing
things on their heads
Unforeseen
And
at first unwanted
Or
so it would seem.
Doors
close slamming in your face
Or
are they really opening
Onto
new life and new beginnings
Trust
is the issue
I
say I do but do I
Trust
in the divine
Trust
in the universe
Trust
that the higher ones
Care
for me
I
am ready to be stood on my head.

Sarah Courtney Dean: I am a poet and my poetry is part and parcel of my spiritual tradition. I am a Druid and a seer and also a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. I live in the UK in the beautiful county of Dorset. My poetry is inspired by nature in all its forms especially by the progress of the seasons and how the Goddess is seen in them. I am single by choice and live with a ginger and white cat by the name of Rowan who as all cats are prone to rules the roost. You can find me on facebook here and on my page here.
