It
emerged in deep honor of other women who, also, love her as much as I do.
Moon Lover
She loves the Moon,
wakes at dark dawn,
when our Great
Goddess,
Mother Moon,
nudges her gently
from dead sleep,
as if waking a child
for school.
Her lessons are
learned
under the sky, alone,
rather than with
others.
She reads the Moon
while soaking in the
knowledge
only darkness can
offer.
How to rest, be
quiet, reflect, and receive,
how to honor the ebb
and flow
of one’s own energy.
She steps outside,
beckoned by SHE
who regulates the
waves,
and women’s cycles,
all over the world.
She moves in a dance
kissed by stars
“Out
beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing.”
She must create a
breeze with her arms
as she circles.
I wonder if the
neighbors see her.
And if they do,
would they watch her,
study those early
morning shadows
her body
wo-manifests,
as she makes love to
the Moon,
to dawn,
to herself,
to the Moon Lover
she
feels so deeply within.
