I find my courage even in my deepest fear…
I
step forward when my heart cries to hold back. Stepping on to an unseeing path,
but moving my feet forward, my souls calls me to be brave.
We all meet these crossings in our lives, when
we feel like falling to the ground and staying there, but we stand up and rise
and be brave. From the depths of our beings, even when fear tries to paralyze
us, we find our bravery deep within us, it calls to us, in our darkest moments.

Be
Brave
Be
Brave...
oh
soul of mine-
when
shadows consume,
your
seeking,
when
darkness covers your way-
your
flickering that comes,
from
your glowing
will
light the way.
Be
Brave...
even
when your foot,
slips
against rock-
even
if you fall on your hands,
touching
cold ground-
lift
up, and be brave.
Your
courage is your surrendering,
rising
and reaching,
even
when you feel,
you
can't anymore.
Be
brave...
for
the colors of life,
hold
you-
the
brightness that you are,
consoles
you.
as
the love of the Divine keeps you,
whispers
to you,
Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg: About 3 years ago, I was awakened from my slumber, though it was a devastating breaking point in my life, I was reunited to a true relationship with my spiritual self and my gift through poetry. It is my intention to reach others by sharing my story through poetry and touching theirs. I am the Page owner of Heart’s Calling .I am also the Visionary Poet for the Facebook Magazine "Women as Visionaries with Lore Raymond" here. I recite spoken word at different venues and also host a monthly Creative Writing Circle using the space for women to bring out their inner release through written word. I am currently working on publishing a book of my poetry. I can be contacted through my Heart’s Calling Facebook page here.

I really enjoyed the theme of this poem: being triumphant over darkness by surrendering to the experience. There is definitely courage in this. I especially enjoyed the ending lines: "...the brightness that you are, consoles you as the love of the Divine keeps you, whispers to you: Be brave!" Thank you for sharing these beautiful reflections with us, Maureen.
ReplyDelete"Your courage is your surrendering" Yes yes. I have found that to be true as well. Beautiful poem that touches my heart. I feel a connection to you through it. Take heart. We are never alone.
