This poem was
written last July just as the day was dawning…
And it describes what I experienced that
morning so well.
Part
of my belief as a Druid, is that the Divine is in everything, and I could
certainly feel Her that morning.

Pregnant
Pause
There is a
silence over everything today
As if the earth
is pregnant.
Broken by the
buzz of bees
Hovering from
flower to flower
Feverishly trying
to outrun
The coming storm.
The air is heavy
with a fecund smell
And dripping
moisture
Like Angels
weeping tears of joy for creation.
Soon though the
storm will break
And the tears
become a flood
And the silence
broken
By thunderbolts
from the Gods.
Sarah Courtney Dean: I am a poet and my poetry is part and parcel of my spiritual tradition. I am a Druid and a seer and also a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. I live in the UK in the beautiful county of Dorset. My poetry is inspired by nature in all its forms especially by the progress of the seasons and how the Goddess is seen in them. I am single by choice and live with a ginger and white cat by the name of Rowan who as all cats are prone to rules the roost. You can find me on facebook here and on my page here.

Thank you for this pretty picture you painted for us, dear Sarah, of the Divine as Feminine and as close to us as the buzzing of bees, the moist, scented air, the oncoming storms and the beauty of nature all around us! So alluring! I think i must have been a Druid in my last life as this really speaks to me.~ :))
